AD: Sip's New Branch at Laketown Invites You to Sip-and-Stay

While the regional coffee shop fave has long championed a sip-and-go mantra, a new branch is doing things differently.

Scene Eats

You’ve probably come by it while strolling the leafy corners of Zamalek, or the historic streets of Downtown Cairo. Maybe you’ve seen it while wandering through the Gemmayzeh in Beirut. Coffee shop by name, regional favourite by nature, Sip is spreading its wings with another new branch in Cairo, this time at Laketown in New Cairo - but this branch is taking the Sip experience further.

For the first time in Cairo, Sip is encouraging you to do more than just sip and go. Unlike the cozy, compact nature of the Zamalek and Tahrir branches, the Laketown location features a full-scale kitchen and dine-in space. With it comes a full and comprehensive dining menu that leans heavily into everyone’s favourite meal: breakfast. In a move that will delight late-risers across the city, breakfast is served daily until 4PM, and offers you a scrupulously sweeping selection of breakfast items. The Benedicts featuring sourdough topped with poached eggs is one of the standouts, while the Fancy Eggs selection, like the Pesto & Cheese Omelette, offers plenty of variety. For those craving something sweet, meanwhile, the Better Than Crepes section offers buttermilk pancakes like the Banana Biscoff, alongside decadent French Toast options like Hazelnut Dulce De Leche.

If you miss the breakfast window, don't sweat it (though sleeping in till after 4PM is a bit of a red flag). Sip’s huge selection of sandwiches is available all day long, offering homemade bagels like the Spicy Tuna and freshly baked sourdoughs, to fluffy focaccias like the Grilled Chicken & Pesto. There quite literally is something to satisfy every craving.
