Let us pose a question: what improves a French macaron? Is it the perfect crack of its shell? The unctuousness of its ganache? Perhaps. But we’d like to propose a more dramatic answer: serving it in the shadow of a 4,500-year-old wonder of the world under the moonlight.

For the first time, Ladurée Pyramids is opening after dark, inviting guests to dine by the pyramids, and the effect is nothing short of cinematic. A box of pastel macarons on the table, the Great Pyramids of Giza bathed in golden light as dusk falls.

Reservations are mandatory after 6:00 PM. Guests will enter through Fayoum Gate 1, park at the Visitor Centre, and be ushered into a setting where French art de vivre meets timeless Egyptian wonder.

The restaurant offers two set menus. The Roi Soleil menu (EGP 1,650) features dishes like Chicken or Salmon Vol-au-Vent and the kind of French toast that could justify most of life’s bad decisions. The Othello (EGP 1,450) keeps things just as elegant with grilled salmon or vegetable Vol-au-Vent, and naturally, two macarons to keep you company while you contemplate the stars.

Dinners are open from 6 PM to 1 AM, with the pyramids glowing beautifully between 8 and 11 PM.
