Osana Wholefood Cafe Finally Provides Delivery Service

When there's something strange in the neighbourhood and you fancy a vegetarian meal, who you gonna call? Osana, duuh!

Weekends were made for yoga pants, meditation and instagrammable breakfasts.  Weekends were basically made for Maadi’s Osana Family Wellness (if you know, you know). But, with Corona running amok, our regular end-of-week-vibes are sadly, no more. There's one itsy bitsy silver lining though, the famed Osana Wholefood Cafe now delivers. Every single day.

Nestled inside the wellness center, the cafe has long been a favourite of the eat-clean-feel-good-cognoscenti, boasting one of the best vegetarian and vegan menus in the city. "We had always planned to offer a delivery service but the advent of the current crisis pushed us to actually set it up quickly," Neena Hwaidak, a co-founder at the Maadi wellness haven, tells SceneEats. "It gives us a lot of satisfaction to offer nutritional food delivery at such a difficult time within our community."

Established in 2016, Osana Family Wellness – with its beautifully designed private villa and gorgeous garden - has set the benchmark for living, eating and playing well. “People come to Osana to feed their souls, so it's only fair that our cafe nourishes their bodies,” says Hwaidak. And for the longest time, Osana Wholefood Cafe was one of the few places in Cairo - if not the only place – serving up carefully curated vegetarian and vegan options including tofu shawerma, black bean kofta, molokhia (yes, they have that), fluffy pancakes, bountiful burritos, succulent stews and so much more. "It has always been a dream of mine to bring a vegetarian cafe to Cairo, providing wholesome and delicious food that proves being vegetarian is not dull," Hwaidak says. "So many of the café’s regular customers don’t even notice we have no meat or fish on the premises!"

Earlier this year, Osana Wholefood Cafe also decided to say goodbye to single-use plastics forever, a move that naturally garnered plenty of praise in the local community. "Our mantra is reduce, reuse and recycle," Hwaidak tells us. "So avoiding plastic wherever possible aligns perfectly with our vision."

The cafe currently only delivers in Maadi, but it plans on expanding to the rest of Cairo soon. Stay tuned to their Instagram for more info.
