San Carlo is Now Open in Cairo West
Birmingham-born San Carlo, brought to Egypt by The Smokery Group, is now serving its Italian menu in Cairo West.
San Carlo has moved inland. The Italian restaurant, founded in Birmingham and brought to Egypt by The Smokery Group, is now open in Cairo West after first introducing its particular strain of Italian glamour to Marassi Marina.
The restaurant arrives with the central pillars of a generously provisioned Italian table: homemade pasta, wood-fired pizza, seafood and the sort of rich desserts that make the phrase “just one bite” legally meaningless. San Carlo’s formula places dinner somewhere between a meal and a minor social production, with polished surroundings and plates designed to occupy the table at considerable length.
Its Cairo West opening expands a local story that began on the North Coast in 2024, when San Carlo opened at Marassi Marina. The group’s sister restaurant, Signor Sassi, followed in El Gouna, also in partnership with The Smokery Group. Cairo can now access the pasta without first packing for the coast.
