Umami and Izakaya Become One at This Brand New Dubai Japanese Restaurant

Out with the old, in with the new, that's Dubai's motto. The space where popular Morimoto restaurant was atop Renaissance Downtown Dubai Hotel overlooking the Burj Khalifa and the rest of the city scape will be replaced with a brand spanking new concept - Mama Umami.

Mama Umami is Japanese cuisine with a twist, blending Latin American izakaya-style dining with traditional Asian flavors along with a hefty drinks menu and a beautiful terrace view.

Executive Chef Carlos Rodriguez has split the menu into nine categories, devised to "offer the ultimate in flavour and texture in order to unlock ‘umami taste’".

The dishes will mix hot, cold, sweet and savoury, with menu will include nippy nippon (cold), hotto mami (hot), lo crudo (raw) and tempura frita (fried) to carbon de japon (grilled), La Mami Umami (signature), sushi/sashimi, maki, and sweet wasabi.

Mama Umami is set to open on 18th August, 2020.
