We got you covered, fellow social media girlies.
Often times the work day starts off with the sort of panic that follows the realisation that you’ve snoozed your alarm around 9 times, give or take. So naturally, unless you’ve somehow miraculously managed to prep your work lunch the night before, you’re left with an empty paper bag to take with you to the office. And you’re not to blame, we totally get it, we’re all on the same boat here.
But what do you do when you forget to pack your lunch? Well, it depends on several factors actually, but one thing for sure is that you have to be mindfully aware of the nature of your job, and what exactly you can afford to spill on your desk.
For this week’s ‘What to Eat When’ guide, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to humbly suggest what to have for lunch, depending on what exactly you’re doing when you’re having lunch.
Without further ado, here’s what to eat when…

The Fix: Shocks Burgers

You’re an Architect…
The Fix: Abou Shakra to Go
What to Get: Half a Grilled Chicken
Let’s be real, you’re not leaving that office any time before midnight, so you’re essentially stuffing yourself till dinner, and nothing gets the job done like a charcoal-grilled chicken.
You Work in Social Media…
The Fix: Chicken & Ribs
What to Get: The Big Mamma Special
You work in social media, and so the world won’t end if you don’t post your company’s ‘Meet the Team’ reel on time. Might as well take your sweet time savouring Chicken & Ribs’ country-fried chicken, Mac N Cheese, and garlic bread.
You’re a (Starving) Artist…
The Fix: Morii Sushi
What to Get: Pink Panther Rolls, Shrimp Tempura, and the Spider Roll
Sushi is a delicacy to be savoured, and a Sushi lunch is one you take your sweet time with. Those moments of calm and careful practice are oftentimes when the creative juices start flowing.
You’re a CEO (and Wish You Weren’t)...
The Fix: TBS
What to Get: The Mexican Salad
Why a salad? Well, you only need one hand, so your other hand can blissfully text rage-filled soliloquies to your finance team on slack. Very logical choice, really.
You Work in Real Estate…
The Fix: Man'oucheh
What to Get: Zaatar & Halloum Man'oucheh
A filling fix, a zaatar & halloum man’oucheh wrap is a quick on-the-go lunch perfect for those days when you get a call at 1:57 informing you that you have a showing in Zayed at 2:30, when you’re still in Madinaty.

The Fix: Willy’s Kitchen
What to Get: Willy’s Nacho Chicken Meal
Your laptop is no stranger to crumbs, so might as well top it up. Nachos are the perfect option for lunch when you’re too busy hunched over your at-home workstation to look at your plate. A nacho might also double as a fidget toy if it stays in your finger for too long, so there’s that perk too.
