PepsiCo Turns food Into an Art Form at Tamara Haus

PepsiCo isn’t just embracing its heritage on the Egyptian table—it's showing us why it belongs among the finest dinners, too.

From the way Egyptians ask for a can of the fizzy stuff to the very word we use for chips, PepsiCo has long been woven into everyday Egyptian culture. But at Cairo Food Week 2026, as acclaimed chefs local and international serve their own perspectives on Egypt’s culinary scene, PepsiCo isn’t just embracing its long heritage on the Egyptian table - it's making the case that it belongs among the finest dining setups too.

Cairo Food Week’s ‘Architecture of Taste’ series offered PepsiCo the chance to present an entirely different vision: to reimagine the casual food culture through unique new culinary creations at Tamara Haus in Downtown - creations that are, dare we say, elevated?

Powered by Alchemy Experience, the sixth edition of this series saw PespiCo Egypt share the room with Chef Omar Semary's Blak By O, Clarisse Loewengard and Sherif Fanous's Chou Chou, and Hourig Mekhtigian's artisanal teahouse, Tchaï. In their own ways, each culinary visionary examined how what we eat and drink shapes, as well as is shaped by, the world around us.

In that spirit, PepsiCo served fresh takes on classic beloveds like their Chipsy range, and recently-launched concepts like Doritos Loaded. They paired each with Pepsi-based mocktails and other beverages designed to complement a curated menu that was as once boldly new and pleasantly familiar.

One standout, for instance, was a Doritos Loaded dish of fresh tuna, wasabi mayo, cucumber, grilled corn, and ponzu, plated on Fathy Mahmoud porcelain. In the collaborative spirit of Cairo Food Week, Blak By O also served a dish around Doritos Loaded that lived up to the adventurous catering experience Blak by O has become known for.

Meanwhile, at the bar, Pepsi Mixology poured three mocktails: the Nostalgic One, the Egyptian One, and—busting the pattern - the precisely-named Cucumber Mint Highball.Made with cherry Pepsi and crowned with vanilla cream, the Nostalgic One gave a drink every Egyptian knows by heart a Latin twist. On the other hand, the Egyptian One wasted no time in getting to our favourite flavours, offering 7Up mixed with a very summer-y blend of hibiscus and mint. Similarly built on a 7Up base, the Cucumber Mint Highball got an extra-citrusy facelift from a splash of lemon juice.

Presented together this way in the sensory delights of Tamara Haus, PepsiCo’s Doritos Loaded dishes and Pepsi Mixology at ‘Architecture of Taste’ succeeded in capturing what makes the brand what it is: bold, unafraid of experimentation, and always looking ahead to what people might want to try next.
