Arkan Plaza Launches Drive-Thru Charity Program for F&B Workers
The initiative aims to help service workers during shutdowns caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
Everyone’s favourite Sheikh Zayed shopping and retail complex Arkan Plaza has reopened its gates for a one-of-a-kind donation program. The centre organised a drive-thru charity initiative, where guests are able to drive to donate to service workers in the F&B industry who are mostly reliant on tips for income.
The initiative, led by Arkan’s property manager Savills Egypt and commercial development company El-Badr, is aimed at supporting F&B workers during the coronavirus crisis, that has indefinitely shutdown all restaurants and cafes across Egypt.
“This pandemic has affected us all, especially the service industry and those who count on their monthly wages and tips for their day-to-day living,” says Tamer Elfiky, Marketing and Business Development Director at Savills Egypt. “This creative initiative is the result of our hard work and efforts with El-Badr team to look at innovative ways to adapt to the current situation and implement solutions that can curb as much as possible the impact of the crisis.”
The donation boxes can be found in Arkan’s parking lot where guests can drive in and drop their donation in a quick, contact-free process.
