Blasta is the Local Brand Honouring and Celebrating Sauces

Their selection of sauces include sweet chilli, barbecue, Mexican ketchup, ranch and more.

Launching in supermarkets in 2019, Blasta is an 100% Egyptian brand specializing in sauces, and only sauces. Initially starting as a joint project between married foodie couples Bahaa El Shobary and Nada Ibrahim, who always had a passion for all kinds of sauces and dips. They transformed their passion into a vigorous process of creating the perfect sauce recipes; “We started off making the sauces at home then consulted various chefs to reach the ultimate taste for each sauce we offer until we perfected it,” El Shobary told SceneEats.

The couple spoke to numerous R&D experts to make the move to turn this hobby into a full-fledged mass manufacturing process, initially supplying to cafes and restaurants around Cairo in 2018. “We believe that food is a whole experience, way beyond basic consumption, and we feel that sauces completely boost (or blast-a) that experience and have the ability to change the taste of something completely,” El Shobary added.

Currently, Blasta’s sauce portfolio is made up of thick honey mustard (without the use of mayo), sweet chili, barbeque, ranch, Mexican ketchup (their 100% original concept and recipe) and the soon-to-be-launched thousand island sauce. Keep an eye out as the couple are constantly inventing new recipes and adding them to their range of products.

Blasta’s sauces are currently available in Spinneys and Lulu Hypermarket, and is currently working on making their products available in more supermarkets around Cairo.
