Fro-yo Hype’s Making a Comeback in Bahrain Thanks to this Japanese Ice-Cream Truck

There are few things that are as adorable and amazing as the way this fro-yo LOOKS, let alone what it tastes like.

Japanese cultural and aesthetic visuals and norms have long been considered graceful and a thing of beauty. That being said, stop appropriating kimonos.

But staying culturally cognizant of that beauty, and feeling inspired to pay ode to what you pick up by being an avid fan and appreciator of Japanese culture, that’s cute. We stan that. Bahraini entrepreneur Mohammed Al-Kuwari did just that, being the frequent traveller to Japan that he is, he was so enamoured by the many ways and flavours of soft serve being served locally. He then thought well why not bring it back home to Bahrain.

He founded Umai Tori (Japanese for tasty bird)i, an ice-cream truck that gets a bit playful with frozen yogurt. So much so that it’s honestly fulfilling enough to leer at it from a screen all the way in Cairo. Name a food that looks as good. We dare you.

And while it takes a certain courage to start your own business, there’s a wholly different requirement of courage to starting a business during Rona. So kudos to Al-Kuwari for not only this insanely adorable brand but also sticking it out through a pandemic.
