'Handmade by Batouta' Makes Eating Dessert Rewarding

Guilt-free dessert just got a whole new meaning.

Staff Writer

Imagine this: eating dessert for a good cause. Yep, you read that right. Founder of Hand Made By Batouta, Farida El Batouty, has just made that possible for you. Growing up, she had a lifelong dream to empower young adults who’ve been through hardships or are living in challenging circumstances and, my oh my, has she done that!

Batouty has combined the best of both worlds: dessert and giving back. Too good to be true, right? Wrong! Welcome Batouta’s Crumbs, where she makes and sells homemade goods and gives the proceeds to people living in different circumstances and various entities.

She organises a various number of different baking activities to transfer knowledge onto children. In a previous baking activity, she has collaborated with non-profit NGO, Tawasool, to make this dream come true. With Tawasool, Batouty gave a baking workshop where 10 students helped bake gingerbread cookies for the week’s orders where 20% of the proceeds went to back to them.

From going through the whole baking process to packaging and placing orders, these children are supporting their families and learning entrepreneurial skills both at once! Talk about a win-win situation.

Both delivery and pickup is available! All you have to do is slide into their DMs to order: @handmadebybatouta.
