Hungarian Chimney Cake Touches Down in Sheikh Zayed and It’s Stunning

Crocannte are introducing Sheikh Zayed to Kürtőskalács, aka a Hungarian chimney cake, filled with delish fillings, and we’re living for it.

Croccante, the online dessert shop, are dedicated to making Kürtőskalács (that’s chimney cake to us and you) and have taken it upon themselves to bless us with this heavenly dessert originating all the way from Hungary – but sometimes considered even more popular in Prague. This stunning, light dessert is made up of a light sweet dough and is cooked rotisserie-style on a cylindrical rotating spit, and the results are an hollow “chimneys” where you can pretty much fill it to the brim with whatever your heart desires (and fill the chimney cake-shaped hole in your heart at the same time).

Croccante was founded this year by 22-year-old civil engineer Omar Orfy who bakes them himself. Orfy took a course to learn how to make this dessert in Europe before utilising his skills to start the shop: “In order to make sure that we achieve customer satisfaction, I waned to make sure I make the cakes myself from A-Z, carrying out the entire process,” Orfy told Scene Eats. We stan a dedicated food entrepreneur. Croccante offers a bunch of diverse options for super coatings such as cinnamon and sugar, pink sugar (intrigued), Oreo, Lotus Biscoff and black coconut (also intrigued), which serve add unique flavours to the dough. Once you’ve figured out your base flavour, you can them choose from delish fillings like Nutella, Lotus Spread, peanut butter, white chocolate, strawberry cream and more, and sneak in a couple of sneaky additions like Kinder, Maltesers or Snickers – aka a sugar dose we’re def down for.

Currently, Croccante only delivers to Palm Hills and Sheikh Zayed, but will be expanding their delivery zones once the global madness has settled down. Also, stay tuned to spot their adorbs food truck which will travel to Sokhna, Sahel and more after quarantine. There’s also talks of franchises opening up in Tunis and other Middle Eastern countries in the future. For orders, call +201210597773 or send them a DM on Instagram.
