Matter Brews Just Turned Cult-Favourite Mango Eweis Into Matcha
The new drink pairs the rich sweetness of Eweis mango with the earthy notes of ceremonial matcha.
Every summer, Egyptians begin ranking, debating, and aggressively recommending their preferred mango varieties, but somehow Eweis always finds its way into the conversation.
Now, Cairo matcha spot Matter has given the seasonal favourite a new assignment. The self-described "post-modern matcha and brew house" just dropped a Mango Eweis Matcha, combining the cult-loved fruit with the earthy Japanese tea that's spent the last few years taking over café menus and camera rolls.
It's a pairing that feels surprisingly inevitable. One ingredient arrives with centuries of tradition behind it. The other arrives with an entire nation convinced it's the superior mango. Together, they make a strong case for summer in a cup.
Matter Brews has built its identity around matcha rather than treating it as the obligatory green option tucked between coffee and tea. From its locations at Waterway 1 and U Venues, the brand has developed a menu that places matcha firmly at the centre of the conversation.
This time, the conversation just happens to involve mangos too.
