Sekeen Brings Artisan Knives to Your Kitchen Drawer

Make way for Egypt’s first Damascus steel brand.

Staff Writer

Locally crafting artisan Damascus steel knives for the culinarily-inclined, Sekeen is the eight-month-old brand bringing a new air of sophistication to our kitchen drawers.

Founded by Khaled Zahran in December, the brand came into fruition after the entrepreneur wanted to use materials from his family’s spare parts manufacturing business to create a B2C brand of his own.

“Sekeen is the first brand to locally produce Damascus steel knives, I wanted to introduce something that doesn’t exist in the market. Damascus steel is a certain kind of manufacturing style that is handmade and cured, unlike the majority of mass-produced stainless steel knives that are of a much lower quality,” Zahran told us.

Culinary schools and institutions have been some of their clientele, as well as having collaborated with Unilever in an ad where they featured these stunning kitchen tools. What’s truly special about these steel creations is not just their superior quality but also their aesthetic and design. Think of it as a designer bag in the culinary world.

In the future Sekeen hopes to expand their product range and create sets, but for the time being they offer their knife models in two sizes with free shipping all over Egypt. Visit sekeen.com to shop their collection.
