Shisha Can Be Served in Dubai Once Again After a 5-Month Ban

The decision comes with precautionary conditions, which will keep businesses on the watch to ensure compliance.

Staff Writer

After reopening restaurants and cafes last month in hopes of getting back to the normal life dynamic (or anything resembling that), Dubai has given the green light for smoking places to serve shisha after five months of banning it country-wide.

The decision comes with precautionary conditions, which will keep businesses on the watch to ensure compliance.

All establishments need to make sure that only disposable hoses are allowed, hookah parts are required to be cleaned and sanitised after every use, and waiters testing shisha for customers will no longer be an option.

Together, with the measures already established, all workers should wear face masks at all times and maintain social distancing -- obvi.
