Uber Eats Announces Complete Operational Shutdown in the Middle East
Operations will officially cease on the 18th of May in the region.
With all of us staying at home due to Miss Rona running amok outside, we've been very dependent on delivery services -- among those services are, or should we say were, Uber Eats. The company has just announced their complete operational shutdown across the Middle East.
“We have made the decision to discontinue Uber Eats in the Middle East. This will also allow us to commit further energy and resources on our top Eats markets around the world," an Uber Eats spokesperson, tells us. "Looking ahead, we remain committed to growing and investing in Uber’s mobility platform in the Middle East.”
Operations will cease on the 18th of May in Egypt and the UAE, and today in Saudi Arabia. While Uber Eats might be no more, Uber Rides will remain operating as usual.
