Egyptoligists discover new things that surprise us every single day. With the technology and knowledge that we have now, we are able to get closer and closer to our ancestors' lives. For example, did you know that ancient Egyptians also made cakes and delicious desserts? I mean, it makes sense they they probably needed to satisfy their needs just like we do. But let me tell you, ancient Egyptians were not all about dem cravings, because they also used their recipes as cures and medicines.

The biggest surprise: you can now try two of dem recipes in your very own kitchen. What better time to get all experimental than this never ending lockdown? Rawi-Egypt’s Heritage Review has shared two of the rare surviving recipes. From the Reckshire tomb in Thebes, Rawi has shared the Tiger Nut cake. It's a nutritious fried triangle cake-like dish. Even back then frying was a thing.

The Eber Papyrus is a medical text from the ancient Egyptians. The recipe share a honey and date cake that was used to cure coughs. Now this is cool AF. Let's finally say bye bye to that horrible cough syrup and click here for the recipes.
