World’s Best Culinary Institute ‘École Ducasse’ is Opening in Cairo

Bring your apron—and maybe a little humility. You’re about to cook alongside the best.

Hassan Tarek

Cairo is about to get a serious culinary upgrade. By the end of 2025, the prestigious École Ducasse and winner of the 2023 title ‘World's Best Culinary Education Institution’, will open its doors in the Egyptian capital. Founded by world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse, The Cairo Studio will introduce gleaming kitchens, decadent pastry labs, and an ambitious plan to mix the finest French culinary traditions with Egypt’s gastronomic heritage.

Dubbed the “École Ducasse Cairo Studio,” this venture comes in partnership with Reliance Egypt. Designed to accommodate anyone with a flair for cooking, the Cairo Studio encourages everyone to perfect their kitchen skills into Michelin-star-worthy magic.

“As a fond admirer of Mediterranean culture I look forward to initiating a fruitful dialogue between French and Egyptian cuisine. We are proud to contribute to the blossoming of talents and give Egyptian cuisine the place it deserves.” École Ducasse founder Chef Alain Ducasse tells SceneEats.

The curriculum will cover everything from short courses and masterclasses to full-on intensive training modules. Going beyond just about following recipes, students will learn how to refine their technical skills, flex their creative muscles, embrace entrepreneurship, and discover their own unique culinary style. Toss in collaborations with top-tier chefs from both Egypt and abroad, plus opportunities for internships and mentorships, and you’ve got a recipe for global career success.

Facilities are set to be cutting-edge, including spacious training kitchens, state-of-the-art pastry labs, and demonstration rooms. While French culinary excellence is the cornerstone, the programs will also lean heavily into Egypt’s culinary traditions.

École Ducasse has been setting the gold standard in culinary education since it opened in 1999. With schools in France, the Philippines, India, Thailand, and the UAE, it’s fair to say they know a thing or two about teaching people to cook like pros.

If you’re dreaming of crafting perfect croissants or perhaps reimagining molokhia for the modern table, The Cairo Studio is here for that. Bring your apron—and maybe a little humility. You’re about to cook alongside the best.
