Zidan’s Culinary Venture ‘Charl’ Takes Over Sahel This Summer
With new branches in Telal and Seashell, Charl brings upscale cuisine to Sahel’s buzzing summer spots.
Located on the North Coast at Telal and Seashell, 'Charl,' a culinary venture by Egyptian footballer Mohamed Zidan, has expanded its presence to two of Egypt's popular summer destinations in Sahel.
Co-founded by Ahmed El-Gendy, Omar Nabil, and Merhan El Massry, Charl welcomes its patrons with swaying palm-lined pergolas and comfortable wooden cabana-style seating in an elegant beachside setting. As the sun sets, the place comes alive with live music, creating an intimate atmosphere that attracts those in search of vibrant nightlife after a day of basking in the coastal sun.
Charl first opened its doors last December in Palm Hills, 6th of October, and quickly became a favorite among residents seeking a sophisticated dining experience. The restaurant boasts a breezy wooden decor, lush interiors, and an upscale international menu featuring Mediterranean and Egyptian favorites. As summer approaches and Egypt's North Coast beckons, Charl seized the opportunity to bring its tropical oasis vibes to the masses heading to Telal and Seashell for their summer escapades.
“Passion and love drive me in everything I do,” co-founder Mohamed Zidan tells Scene Eats. “Being a business owner is just as exciting as playing football - I have a motto and that is: play well, work well, and you’ll be happy.”
The latest Charl branches in the North Coast draw direct inspiration from their seaside location, featuring charming cabin-like structures, straw-draped pergolas, and inviting alfresco seating, all complemented by a gentle breeze and delightful ambiance.
