Balkan Food Makes Its Egypt Debut with Tabak
The culturally-entrenched restaurant aims to provide indulgers with a soul-binding feast for the senses by offering every rendition of the classic Ottoman kebabs, Short Ribs tajin, and Shish Kebabs.
Hoping to rejuvenate the local food scene, Tabak is whisking us away - one Ottoman delicacy at a time - to the land of char-grilled meats and honey-dipped desserts. Brimming with every rendition of the classic Ottoman kebabs, Short Ribs tajin, and Shish Kebabs, the culturally-entrenched restaurant aims to provide indulgers with a soul-binding feast for the sense.
“Our inspiration came from the art of cooking, perfecting culinary skills and techniques that not only create delicious entrees but also serve as entertainment to the customers,” founder Khaled ElDegwy tells #SceneEats. “With the different cuisines, the industrial interior design, and the open-kitchen experience, our brand is setting itself apart from others in the market and providing a unique customer experience unmatched anywhere else in Cairo.”
When asked about the purpose behind the culinary choice, Tabak’s response fortified the verisimilitude of their brand philosophy, “Our purpose is the holistic, innovative fusion of cuisines and the interior to create a customer experience that goes beyond a meal. The story starts with a Tabak, but it doesn’t end there.”
You can indulge in the traditional Balkan delicacies at Polaris Mall, north of 90th Street, New Cairo. Catch the restaurant and expand further onto the shores of the North Coast and the suburban neighborhoods of Sheikh Zayed.
