CAF is Now Open in Somabay All Year Long

A summer outpost generally arrives with an expiry date. The counter is installed, the iced drinks multiply and, once the last holiday traffic thins, the whole operation retreats to Cairo as though the coast had been an elaborate seasonal hallucination. CAF has decided not to perform the final step.

The Egyptian coffee shop is making its Somabay summer outpost permanent, keeping its position on the Marina open throughout the year. What began as a warm-weather address will now serve the Red Sea destination through its quieter autumn mornings, winter sun and the long intervals when ordering something iced no longer feels like emergency climate management.

CAF’s menu has always accommodated several relationships with caffeine, from direct espresso to sweeter lattes, matcha and the kind of cold drinks that can occupy most of a commute. At Somabay, they acquire a different rhythm. Coffee is taken beside the Marina rather than between meetings; the first cup may precede the beach, a boat or no discernible plan whatsoever.
