Dancing Goat Coffee is Now Open in El Gouna Red Sea

Dancing Goat Coffee is now open in El Gouna, carrying its specialty brews from Cairo’s hurried coffee circuit to the rather different timetable of the Red Sea. The new branch brings the brand’s espresso, milk drinks, iced inventions and matcha to a city where the first cup of the day may precede a boat rather than a meeting.

Founded in 2022, Dancing Goat has expanded from a single counter into a network of more than 25 locations across Cairo, Alexandria and the North Coast. Its name borrows from the legend of Kaldi, the Ethiopian goatherd said to have discovered coffee after noticing that his flock became unusually animated upon eating its cherries. The brand took the goats’ response as both name and operating philosophy.

That philosophy has produced a menu capable of accommodating several relationships with caffeine: direct espresso, sweeter lattes, matcha, cold drinks and roasted beans for those who prefer to reproduce the ceremony at home. In El Gouna, the formula remains intact; only the rhythm surrounding it changes.
