Ginger with honey, lemon with honey or even just a spoonful of honey is delicious and healthy AF. Honey is nature's sweet syrup that just makes every unlikable drink (and dessert) so much better, but yet keeps it healthy. Who says no to that? However, we very much to know how sad is to say that bees are becoming instinct and are now endangered species, but Ahmad ElNakkady, founder of Heirloom, is here to change it all with his honey brand.

El Nakkady’s bee and honey journey started in 2016 when he had to join the military after graduating from the AUC. ‟After the first couple of days in the military training camp, I learned how to get my way in there,‟ he further explains how he was able to take every chance he could get to take his time off under a tree in the shadow--well, to chill. And with this came the chance for him to meet his inspiration to Heirloom. ‟One day someone joined me under a tree. His arms were covered in red spots which got me worried and drove me to ask him if he was alright.‟ He then found out that his fellow military buddy was a beekeeper. ‟I started listening to his stories and his knowledge behind beekeeping, which awoke my interest," he stresses.

With this being the kick-off to his interest, El Nakkady started investing his time time to educate himself on this topic. Driven by the new-found passion, he started researching, reading various books and taking courses and even volunteering in farms, with which he aimed to learn as much as possible.

‟I realised how much time I am spending researching and reading, which got me thinking to transfer what I fell in love with, into a business.‟ With this decision, he created Heirloom and decided to start producing honey. And not just any honey, but raw, natural and high quality honey. Now this is what we call real delish AF honey. ‟It took us one and a half years of trials and errors to produce the best possible product with the best possible quality that we have now.‟ And because their honey is as exquisite as it can get, Heirlooms honey only gets distributed in small batches.

Besides pampering us with nature's goodness, Heirlooms' founder prioritises raising awareness about bees and reviving the art of beekeeping. His goal is to build a community and an association for all beekeepers -- including the wanna-bees. He also provides workshops to teach individuals about the whole process, making sure that it always stays humane.

You can get Heirloom's products delivered right to your very own doorstep anywhere in Cairo. Just make sure to DM them their IG page. They are currently also available at Rdna Store in Maadi and Sunny Markets starting June.
