Lebanese Eatery Poule d’Or Mixes Sujuk and Shawerma Into One Epic Bite
Lebanese chain Poule d’Or releases a sujuk-shawerma hybrid
Lebanese rotisserie chicken chain Poule d’Or has released a brand new item we need to discuss pronto. Marrying the iconic sujuk sandwich with the mouthwatering creation that is shawerma, the Mohandessin eatery has released the sujuk shawerma— and we are ecstatic. “It’s a classic Lebanese street food that we’ve put our twist on,” said manager Miriam Madhouni. “We use the very same ingredients and recipes that our branches in Lebanon use, so everything from A to Z is authentic as can be.”
The sujuk doesn’t come in its usual sausage form, but the meat is instead propped on the rotating grill as per shawerma meat. The sliced sujuk is then stuffed into fino bread, and paired with tomato slices and kabees— basically the Lebanese word for torshi.

But the secret sauce to the magic of the sujuk shawerma is, well, literally their sauce. The sujuk sauce features garlic, mustard, and a few other ingredients that Poule d’Or is choosing to keep secret, and for good reason.
The new menu item just dropped, like, now and it is available for just EGP 25 at their only Egyptian branch on El Batal Ahmed Abdelaziz St, across from BTM. You can call them on +2 0103 355 3379.
