Wisconsin's Classic Broaster Chicken Lands in Om El Donia

An American classic since the 50s, broasted chicken finally makes it to Cairene plates.

Broaster Chicken has finally made it to Egypt. If you don’t know what that is, then a little history lesson is in order. Listen up, dolls.

The chicken joint was founded back in 1954 by L.A.M. Phalen, who wanted to combine pressure cookers and deep fryers into one invention— resulting in their Broaster Pressure Fryer. Since then, the food chain has become an American classic with chains all over the world. A Beloit, Wisconsin classic, the term ‘broasted chicken’ is basically interchangeable with ‘fried chicken’ in the state because of this eatery. And now it’s in Heliopolis and Sherouk.

Their menu, while humble, is untouchable. They only have a few chicken sandwiches to choose from and a bunch of different dinner boxes organized by number of pieces. It’s very simple and understated, but that’s only because flavour takes center stage. Get your taste of Wisconsin via broasteregypt.com.
