While you may not be personally aware of them, but every time you dug into Crave’s Chicken M.C.M you had their products. Shahd is one of Egypt’s biggest poultry brands since 1980. Named after the founder Anwar el-Abd’s daughter, Shahd is renowned for setting industry standards with their produce. The brand is a favourite for both individuals and the F&B industry in Egypt for decades now.

“The first thing that gives Shahd it’s brand edge is it’s undisputed quality in the market in the chilled fresh category,” Ibrahim Wagdy, Marketing Director at Shahd, tells SceneEats. “We lead the market by supplying our produce to major heavyweights in the industry such as Carrefour, Crave, Cook Door, The Tap and Oscar.”

During these unprecedented topsy turvy times, Shahd has been also put to the test by the coronavirus crisis. With F&B chains being their biggest player in the supply chain, they’ve had to shift it up a bit.

You don’t need to mosey down to any supermarket, or have to don your corona armour, to get your Shahd chicken. They have now set up a home delivery service so that you need only dial up 15287 and the chicken crosses the road frozen, packed and ready straight to your door. The power of seasoning also goes a long way, so Shahd is currently working on a new wider product range for their home delivery that includes a marinated line such as Korean BBQ and buffalo wings.
