Egyptian-Born Gourmet Popcorn Brand Frumentum Offers Popcorn in Over 31 Different Flavours

In this anxiety-ridden and confusing time we’re living in, many of us have chosen to fully take advantage of the summer re-openings. Others of us – however – still prefer to spend our week curled up in our fave blanket watching Netflix from the socially-distanced safety of our own homes.

A newly-launched Egyptian-born gourmet air-popped popcorn brand called ‘Frumentum’ is going to amp up our cosy nights in with their popcorn, brownies, cookie dough and popshakes (all made using popcorn), in addition to a Belgian chocolate fountain if you choose to eat in-store. The brand is also set to be the first Egyptian-born popcorn brand to open branches abroad with its plans to open up stores in London, Dubai and Greece in the first half of next year, with stores in more countries to come. 

The spot uses 100% imported ingredients and equipment from the US to make its popcorn, which is all naturally-flavoured and naturally-coloured and because it’s air-popped, it offers a healthier alternative to snacking. Serving the best of both worlds (in the words of the great Hannah Montana), the brand offers both sweet and savoury flavours: including caramel crisp, salted caramel, butterscotch, Oreo, banana strawberry and more, plus the chocolate-based Zebra (caramel with dark and white chocolate, cinnamon crunch and dark chocolate. If you’re more of a savoury stan, you can opt for Cheddar Fusion, Sweet Chilli, Ranch, Wasabi, Salty Vinegar, Black Olives and more. ‘Frumentum’ also serves Lotus, Oreo, Banana and Salted Caramel Popshakes.

“At ‘Frumentum’, we prioritise ensuring we only use top-quality ingredients for our items, and provide the biggest variety of flavours possible,” Frumentum founder Mahmoud Saad tells SceneEats, “Because our popcorn is all air-popped, you could easily opt to eat it as a healthier snack, with a bag that can last a whole week at only a few hundred calories.”
