Everyone's Fave Ice Cream Shop Just Opened in Maadi

Summer in Maadi just got a whole lot sunnier. Just in time for the warm weather, everyone's fav ice cream shop, Dara’s Ice Cream (duuh), has opened its doors in Cairo’s leafiest district, Maadi. This is no cookie-cutter branch, however, and founder, Dara Ghoshesh, has tapped into the area’s serene outdoors to create something a little bit different.

“I designed it in a way for neighbors to meet there,” she told SceneEats. “The shop features an indoor patio and plenty of seating options outside. I chose Maadi for our latest branch a) Maadians wouldn't stop asking. b) we like to open in neighborhoods where people know each other and have an appreciation for the quality and service that we offer. c) because it's Maadi."

The new shop is the latest step in Ghoshesh's seeming plans for nationwide frozen treats domination. Having first opened in Zamalek, the ice cream specialist has gone on to open branches at Sheikh Zayed's Galleria40 and New Cairo's Waterway, while it also has a branch in Sahel at Seashell, Al Alemein. Oh, and a little birdie told us they'll be serving their iconic coffee at the Maadi spot very soon, you'll just have to wait until their machines arrive from Italy.
