Greek Coffee Chain Mikel Comes to Cairo

Coming straight from the northern Mediterranean coast, Mikel is the newest coffee shop to grace Korba.

Massive Greek cafe chain Mikel Coffee Company has set it’s foot in Cairo with a new Korba chain. Opening its doors just two months ago, Egypt has just been added on the list of over 250 branches across the globe, joining Saudi Arabia and the UAE among their locations in the Arab world.

Known for their signature Greek frappe, the coffee shop brews all the classic coffee variations and serves baked pastries and deli sandwiches. Most notably of all, though, are their graphic to-go cups which have become the chain’s international branding symbol.

The shop often brings on live music performances at their villa location, which was once home to the famed Chili’s Heliopolis branch we visited in our childhood (we know you know what we’re talking about). Visit them at Villa 18, Thawra St. next to Beit Ward Restaurant.
