These Egyptian Sisters Deliver Sushi, Chinese and Indian Food Right to Your Doorstep

Is your fave cusine Indian or Chinese? Or are you more of a sushi stan? Doesn’t matter ‘cause with Asiando you won’t have to choose.

So, you’re sitting on the couch on episode one gazillion of your fave Netflix show and you wanna order some food but don’t exactly know what matches your aesthetic for the day. Chinese? Maybe. Indian? Could do. Sushi? Why not? But then you want it all and can’t choose so you end up going for your staple Double Big Tasty Combo large with extra Big Tasty sauce on the side (obvs because you are not a MONSTER). Well, it turns out, thanks to the newly-launched passion culinary project ‘Asiando’ you actually can have it all. The virtual kitchen – founded by sibling duo Aya and Yomna El Shenawy – makes Chinese and Indian food, as well as sushi and we’re living for it tbh – partly as a way to make the most out of quarantine, and we’re living for their hustle tbh.

“During quarantine, my younger sister Aya found her passion through food, and she used to cook Chinese, Indian and sushi and it all tasted amazing,” Yomna tells SceneEats, “So I thought about opening a small business to make some profit and fight the boredom of quarantine, and ultimately do something that we love.”

With Aya handling the business and Yomna handling the cooking, the sisters chose the name “Asiando” as it encompasses the pan-Asian influence behind their good. For sushi, you can expect to find your favourite rolls such as the “spicy lemon roll”, “Philadelphia” and “salmon Maki”, while the Indian staple ‘Butter Chicken’ and ‘Chicken Biryani’ and the Chinese ‘Beef Kung Pao’ and ‘Chicken Sweet and Sour’ are also on the menu. For those looking to take on the almost impossible feat of being weight-concious during (partial) quarantine, the El Shenawy sisters have also launched low-calorie sushi rolls, with the number of calories per piece included on the menu.

Because Aya and Yomna are still university students, they’ve been making a point to try to maintain the business even after they return to university, and might possibly even hire more hands to help out with the ultimate goal of maybe opening a restaurant. We don’t know about you guys, but we def wish they do.

Currently, Asiando delivers to New Cairo, Rehab City, Heliopolis, Nasr City and Sheraton. Or orders, DM them on their Instagram page.
