Zamalek’s ‘MAAT’ Comes Through with Brunch Realness by the Nile

At Scene Eats, we don’t like to discriminate when it comes to meals. We love breakfast, lunch dinner, second dinners and snacks (midnight and otherwise). But we have to admit that we have a certain soft spot for brunch, and especially when it’s accompanied by a view. Serving just that- along with breakfast, lunch and dinner - is a restaurant in Zamalek called ‘MAAT’ (an Ancient Egyptian term referring to the concepts of truth), located in the island’s ‘Biota’.

If you’re a brunch fiend like us, some of the options you can expect to find for breakfast and lunch are Eggs Florentine and Scrambled Egg and Truffle Bun, Eggs Atlantic (like an eggs benedict but with smoked salmon) and a range of omlettes. If you’re more of a sweet tooth in the morning, MAAT also serves Buttermilk Maple Pancakes, Banana Paleo Pancakes, granola bowls and Banana and Honey French Toast.
