Where to Find the Best Coffee on the North Coast - A Scene Eats Guide

“It’s the condensation Cleooooo.”

Farida El Shafie

As the Sahel sun beats down and our portable ice boxes prove ineffective, the coffee shops lining the shores begin to beckon with a certain coffee-flavoured glow. The trek through scorching sands becomes far more bearable when a freshly brewed Spanish latte awaits at the end. Whether you wake up early on your weekend getaway ravenously searching for the perfect Americano, or prefer to languidly sip on iced lattes in the afternoon, we’ve curated a list of the best coffee shops on Egypt’s North Coast.

Saints

BRGR Locations in Zahra, Hacienda Red, Diplo, Mountain View, Almaza Bay, Seashell, Telal, Playa, D-bay, Swan Lake, Ceasar Village

Over the years we’ve become well acquainted with BRGR trucks in Sahel. They provide a sense of comfort in our chosen summer home away from home. Saints, is BRGR’s newly launched caffeinated counterpart and its conveniently located at every truck.

Koffee Kulture

Marassi Marina, Telal, Swanlake, North Lanes, Diplo & Almaza (inside Azza Fahmy Stores), Marassi Youth Club

A Sahel summer would not be complete without a freshly-sealed can of Koffee Kulture brews. With locations scattered around the Mediterranean shores, the cult classic caffeine option is a solid go-to.

Brown Nose

Marassi Marina, Marassi Safi Beach, Hacienda White, Dara’s Diplo, Dara’s Seashell, Dara’s Almaza, Dara’s La Vista Bay

At times you’ll find Brown Nose nestled between a couple of Dara’s Ice Cream cones, other times, like they’re Marassi Marina location, you’ll find the beloved spot sprawling chairs that boast seaside views.

30 NORTH

Lakeyard, Diplo by the Beach, La Vista Bay, Ceasar, Sidi Heneish

When all else fails, a 30 NORTH truck stands (dark roast in tow) ready to battle most heat induced iced latte, smoothie, and juice-based cravings.

Ladurée

Marassi Marina

This Parisienne approach to coffee comes with the option of Macrons (we recommend the Pistachio-flavoured ones) and a plethora of confectioneries to choose from.

Cult

Hacienda White & Almaza Bay

Coffee for breakfast has been (and continues to be) an important staple for many Sahel girlies, but at Cult, you can pair that with the more filling option of a caprese bagel (or two).

Seven Fortunes

Hacienda White, Seashell, Hacienda Red Hotel, Marassi Beach Clubhouse, Diplo Walk, Marassi Marina

Whilst some simply cannot part ways with their New Cairo locations, Seven Fortunes (by the sea) still exudes the same warmth and offers their signature heart-shaped stoppers.

1980

Seashell, Marassi The Hub, Marassi North Beach

Coffee and Panuozzo anyone? The highly-rated Cairo spot is now offering its ‘quirky’ food options and myriad coffee and smoothie options from a quaint little truck in Seashell.

Frío

Amwaj

This is the Ismailia famous cafe’s first foray into Sahel coffee culture. Conveniently located on Amwaj’s beach, the cosy booth offers Frio’s beloved range of frappuccinos and matcha options.
