Is Zamalek’s Piccolo Mondo Cairo’s Best Nile-Side Date Spot?
Anyone up for a game of ‘pass the cheque hot potato’?
This is SceneEats correspondent Fatafeet El-Share' reporting live from Zamalek’s Piccolo Mondo.
It’s a universally acknowledged truth that winter blues require carbs…and cuddles.
On my mission to tackle those starchy cravings I went on TikTok (as one does) and doom-scrolled until I landed in the lap (no puns intended) of Le Pacha 1901’s Piccolo Mondo. I usually prefer the light-weight embrace of Burrata (mama if you’re reading this, I know it’s not gebna ‘areesh but please let it slide), but when there’s a bolognese option on the menu, you choose the bolognese.
Authentic Italian options aside, Le Pacha 1901’s Piccolo Mondo looks like a literal Roman eatery. From the motorcycle that greets customers upon entry to the dome shaped windows that pave direct views of the glistenings waters around, the eatery truly is an invitation to snuggle up with your boo and sink your teeth into freshly-baked pizzas.
Bella ciao,
Fatafeet El Share’.
