7agogah Reinvents Traditional Masmat Dishes

7agogah, which we do believe is a nickname for ‘7agah,’ is the new Egyptian masmat-style eatery serving up all the classic dishes with a new twist. It’s not fusion cuisine, its Egyptian food mixed with a whole lot of creativity.

From a warak enab tajine with kaware3 or hawawshi filled with sujuk, this eatery combines foods that don’t necessarily belong together but are all considered street food staples. It’s like marrying from the family, sans incest. 

One menu item that’s caught our eye though is ’tajine el hag’ which according to 7agogah is an aphrodisiac stronger than seafood. With akkawy, makhasi, and bone marrow, they recommend this unconventional mix particularly to older gentlemen. We aren’t blushing, you are.
