Charity is tantamount to the spirit of the holidays, and that's especially true for Eid Al-Adha. And this year, of all years, it's more important than ever to remember that while we might be going through some tough times, there are people for whom such struggles are just part and parcel of their daily lives. And so, for the Eid Al-Adha holiday coming up next week, the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Ministry of Awqaf will donate 700 tons of meat from about 4,000 livestock to lower-income Egyptians.

The entire project - which falls under the framework of the 'Decent Life' initiative- will be funded by the Central Bank of Egypt, and will be carried out by the Ministry of Awqaf to ensure correct procedures take place. The meat will be given out to residents of Cairo, Giza, and rural governorates with lower employment rates.
