Fati’s Latest Donut Flavours Are Whisking Us Off to Italy
Cleverly dubbed the ‘Fati’s in Portofino Collection’, Fati’s Chef Fatma Ahmed just dropped ‘Tiramisu’ and ‘Maritozzi’ donuts.
Fati’s Chef Fatma Ahmed is more than just a culinary beacon spreading sugar - often too much sugar - into our lives. She is, in fact, a relatable icon. We’ve all been there, woken up in the depths of the night, heeding the call of the kitchen, faithfully taking several steps to concoct something hitherto unknown to man to gobble up at the unholy hour of 2 AM.
Chef Ahmed is no different, and is certainly no stranger to these nightly donut-sponsored ventures, and for her latest creations, she’s feeling a little Italian. Introducing two brand new donut flavours; the ‘tiramisu’ donut and the ‘Fatitozzi’ donut - a clever play on Rome’s most iconic pastry, the Maritozzi - Fati’s is not sparing any diabetics with this release, and I, dearest reader, would know.
A thick donut spliced in half, filled with pistachio cream, dipped in chocolate, and sprinkled with roasted pistachios, the ‘Fatitozzi’ is perhaps the final boss of donuts. The tiramisu donut, equally fulfilling and inducing of a sugar rush, is filled with cream, dipped in chocolate, and showered in cocoa powder and espresso.
We don’t know about you, but we here at SceneEats are firm believers in the often-catastrophe-bringing notion of ‘I’ll try everything once.’ Bon appetit!
P.S. Keep that insulin pen handy.
