Fornalia Bakery Opens First Branch in El Gouna

Whilst some may enjoy waking up as dawn crawls into being and embarking on a treacherous run through Cairo’s winding roads, others prefer the calming aftertaste of a freshly baked croissant amidst El Gouna’s ochre buildings. That said, Cairo’s cloud bakery Fornalia has packed up its whisks, creamy custard fillings and syrupy concoctions and opened its first branch in El Gouna’s Fanadir. 

The cozy haven, punctuated with earthy decor, neutral interiors and a Milanese style coffee bar, boasts sprawling views of the Marina. As you sip on the remnants of your morning coffee and ponder the inevitable aftermath of the lactose-riddled drink, stagger bites of Swedish Fika between novel chapters and ‘work emails’.
