Hip Dining Concept ‘Sky Rim’ Is Now in the Place of Legendary Mukattam Bar ‘Virginian’

Hailed for its below-par-but-we-love-it-anyway service, good mezzahs and impeccable view, one that’s hard to come by anywhere across Cairo, Mukattam’s iconic open-air bar ‘Virginian’ held a very special place in our hearts forever, cheesy music, stage and all. Frequenters of ‘Virginian’ will know that the place mysteriously closed for a while, and after putting two and two together, we realised the Virginian has been torn down, and a bougie new dining destination called ‘Sky Rim’ has been built in its place, marking the end of an era for many people (us). 

‘Sky Rim’ hosts two main spots: Palladium Lounge & Bar and CRESTA café. Palladium serves a range of appetisers like Greek salad, cheese platters, shrimp salad with guacamole and quinoa and chicken pesto salad. It also offers sushi, mussels in creamy wine sauce and shrimp tempura. You could also find a range of pastas and risottos, steaks and desserts such as tiramasu, chocolate fondue and more.
