Staff Writer

You might have heard of food photographer and videographer Nouran Fawzy (who – btw – is the granddaughter of the late legendary Egyptian singer and composer Mohamed Fawzy). Fawzy – aka @nmfeats – on Instagram has garnered substantial popularity for her unbelievably aesthetic Instagram grid, that not only showcases the beauty of food (which she cooks herself) through photography, but also serves witty, imaginative captions at hat are honestly storytelling goals.

The page was originally launched four years ago to document former banker and now stay-at-home-mum of two Fawzy’s healthy eating habits, but then grew to become a vessel for her to share her creativity, with every photo of food carrying its own story.

“I’m going for a unique, visually-pleasant, informative, quirky and artsy food experience for my followers,” Fawzy tells SceneEats. “The concept is more about food art and the beauty that lies behind food itself. I used to style my pictures but then I realised that food – in and of itself – is art.”

As time went on, Fawzy started to dress up and role-play in her videos to create stories and narratives around the food she was shooting, instead of just posting your standard recipe videos and posts, leading her to discover her passion for directing and videography, and the page slowly became Fawzy’s little entryway to discovering herself and her hidden talents.

“I pretend as if I’m an artist, and my followers are my audience. I like to put on a show,” Fawzy adds, “I like to take them on an adventure when it comes to food. It’s not just about food styling – it’s more about the fact that I like to shoot the aesthetic food and all things attributed to it.”
