The First Sushi Restaurant in Egypt Has Come Back From the Dead
Sapporo has come back full-force paying ode to their nostalgic beginnings.

The 90s were full of many things we will never forget, and can’t get back, like Bakar or the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. But it was also the time when Egypt got its first ever sushi restaurant, Sapporo. And what we thought had been dimmed by the force of time has resurfaced back into the local foodie scene, reemerging once again in Sheraton Hotel all these years later.
The restaurant has come back from the dead, and this time with a witty kick. Paying ode to their beginnings, they’ve come in with a 90s theme plastered over their decor and presentation. The fresh prince would be proud. With walls clad with graffiti, skateboards instead of plates, and gigantic koi fish hanging from the ceilings, they’ve made quite the stylish entrance.
Their menu is equally as fashionable. With teppanyaki grills, lemongrass creme brûlée, tokachi, maki rolls, and of course sapporo. They opened their doors for their official launch just days ago, and welcomed in hoards of influencers and celebrities alike.
The restaurant has a live teppanyaki show and expert mixologists that do all kinds of fun bar tricks, including a flaming glass tower that is uber mesmerising. Visit them at Sheraton Cairo Hotel for a bougie sushi dinner that won’t disappoint.
