A source of life in all aspects, the art of cooking and eating has long stood representative of cultures and ages. Here to introduce our redundant palates to new horizons is Mayrig, an upscale eatery dedicated to reviving Armenian heritage in the heart of Cairo.
Translating to ‘mother’, Mayrig merges a father’s dream and a mother’s tenacity to create a concept that transports visitors (better yet, voyeurs) through time and space directly onto a traditional Armenian dining table. Boasting aromatic herbs and unprecedented-yet-familiar flavours, the cuisine merges between what is entirely new and what feels like home.
