We’re coming atchu with the best news you’ll probably hear all day. It’s no secret that Egyptians love their mangoes. We eat them with anything, anywhere and anytime. Mango salads, mango juices, mango konafas, you name it. At one point, we thought we’d have a shortage in the mango supply and have to cut down on it for a bit. Well folks, quite the opposite is happening actually! Egypt’s exports for mangoes has increased by 33% in 2020!
Over the first 10 months of 2020, the amount of exported agricultural goods made a whopping 1.7 billion dollars, led by mangoes and pomegranate, according to recent statistics. So we’re telling you that exporting mangoes and pomegranate alone has made us $1.7 billion. Not too shabby.
These statistics pointed out that the exports of Egyptian mangoes have increased by 33% just during the past year after registering $29 million during the first 10 months of 2020 vs. 2019 -- where it was registered to be at $22 million. Lolwut? Keep eating your mangoes, friends! It doesn’t look like we’ll be bumping into a shortage anytime soon.
