You never know which classic sweet will suddenly come with a twist, maybe boba in basbousa, a salted caramel drizzle on kunafa, or even a matcha addition to a beloved classic. Every bakery is in a low-key arms race, dropping limited-edition boxes, flashy videos, or new creations meant to make you rethink your life choices and rush out mid-iftar.
We asked Egypt’s food influencers to weigh in on the matter, because in this battlefield of sweet drops, guidance is required. From flaky puffs to syrupy syrup bombs, these are the eftekasat that everyone is secretly or not so secretly obsessed with this year.

I gave a few trendy desserts a chance… and honestly, I was disappointed.
I’m starting to feel like some people focus more on how it’ll go viral than how it actually tastes.
Maybe it’s just because I prefer the classic, authentic flavors more 👀😂
But if I had to pick only one, I’d choose Voila’s Tropical Fusion Parfait
