Fayoum’s Kom El Dikka Now Delivers Its Delectable Menu to Cairo
Semi-frozen on arrival, so meal prep for the week if you want - but you don’t have to do it solo anymore.

For anyone caught in the endless Ramadan loop of late-night cravings and half-hearted attempts at meal prep, here’s a thought: what if the best, freshest, farm-grown ingredients came straight to your doorstep? No, not the pre-packaged, borderline lifeless kind, but real, straight-from-the-earth Egyptian classics that taste as good as they make you feel. Kom El Dikka, Egypt’s first farm-to-table restaurant, is doing just that—bringing its signature slow food philosophy to Cairo, minus the road trip to Fayoum.
Founded on the belief that fresh is best, Kom El Dikka is an agrilodge deeply embedded in the lush landscapes of Tunis, Fayoum. For two decades, it has served as a retreat for food lovers seeking something beyond Cairo’s oversaturated, convenience-driven dining scene. Here, it’s all about seasonal produce, sustainable sourcing, and Egyptian flavours that don’t need gimmicks to impress. “Our restaurant is the first farm-to-table restaurant in Egypt,” says owner Ahmed Aly El Mofty. “Everything on the menu is made with produce that comes directly from our farm. This is our essence.”
The experience of dining at Kom El Dikka is one of those rare, full-sensory events—sun-dappled olive groves, air scented with fresh bread and molokhiya, a table covered in tagines and golden, paper-thin feteer. Everything, from the honey to the bread to the olive oil, is sourced straight from their farm. It’s food the way it was meant to be: unprocessed, unhurried, and deeply rooted in place.
But for those who won’t make the trip (because, let’s face it, Ramadan series and late work nights aren’t exactly road-trip friendly), Kom El Dikka is meeting you where you are. Their entire menu is now available for delivery to Cairo—real, farm-fresh, no-shortcuts Egyptian food, ready to heat and serve. “All the meals we deliver are semi-frozen to preserve their freshness, allowing for quick, hassle-free preparation at home,” says Mofty.
Orders can be placed directly at their shop in Zamalek, via Instagram, or through WhatsApp, making it dangerously easy to swap out another predictable fast-food order for something that actually nourishes. It’s a small shift, but one that might just redefine how you eat this month. And let’s be honest—if there’s a way to get slow food without the slow process, why wouldn’t you?
