Egypt Enforces Evening Closure of Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Nightclubs
Establishments that offer food or entertainment services will have to stop operating from the hours of 7 pm until 6 am.
In a bit to stem the spread of Coronavirus, Egypt has ordered the closure of restaurants, coffee shops, malls, bars and nightclubs everyday from the hours of 7 pm until 6 am.
"Establishments that offer food or entertainment services will require to close until March 31st across all governorates during the newly-applied operating hours," Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, announces.
However, supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and food delivery services will be exempted to make sure that everyone can always purchase all the necessities and essentials to be able to practice social distancing and minimise human interaction during these current times.
This move comes as Egypt's total COVID-19 cases reach 210 (at the time of writing), and airports across the country dispatch their final flights before complete closure tonight, until the end of March.
