The products include citrus fruit, potatoes, onions, grapes and more.

Any frequent traveller will now that – in terms of fruits and vegetables – Egypt just does it better. In a country which grows some of the tastiest produce in the entire world, it’s no surprise than in 2020, Egypt has exported a whopping 4.8 million tons of agricultural products between January 1st and November 25th 2020. The produce includes citrus fruit, potatoes, onions, grapes, pomegranate, guavas, cucumbers, bell peppers and eggplant. It also includes (unsurprisingly) strawberries, beans and mangoes.

The award for most-exported produce goes to *drum roll* 1.4 million tons of citruit fruit, around 670,000 tons of potatoes and slightly above 400,000 tons of onions (because onions are life obv).

To put this in perspective, Egypt’s annual produce exports amount to around USD 2.2 billion, which is 10% of all of Egypt’s non-petroleum exports.
