'The Week of Italian' Cuisine Takes Over Cairo's Italian Eateries

The Week of Italian Cuisine will run until November 26th at Egyptian restaurants.

One of the most popular cuisines around the world, if not the most popular, is hands-down Italian cuisine. The Mediterranean foods we’ve grown to love so much have become household staples all over the world, be it pizza or pasta. Here in Egypt, we have our own twist on the carby classics like macarona béchamel. So we’re very excited about The Week of Italian Cuisine, which kicked off on November 22nd and will run until the 26th.

The culinary week is a global event held every year by the diplomatic and consular offices of Italy, and aims to promote the culinary traditions of the coastal nation. In our opinion though, it doesn’t need any more promotion. But since there’s food involved, we aren’t complaining.

So what’s exactly going on during the week? Italian eateries across Egypt are dishing out special menu items for the week-long events. Some of which include Roberto’s in Alexandria, Reef Beach in Sharm El Sheikh, La Zisa in St. Regis, Italiano in Zed Park, and La Trattoria in Zamalek to name a few.

Being the die-hard foodies we are at heart, we’re likely going restaurant-hopping to try all of these creations. Bellisima.
