A’mayel Edaya: Egyptian Mums Try Macarona Bechamel (Episode 4)
Some mums signed divorce papers in the making of this episode.

To cream cheese or not to cream cheese? How much milk is too much milk? And Is lactose-intolerance a mere fad in the face of bechamel? The answer to the series of philosophical questions posed is answered throughout this week’s episode of #AmayelEdaya. The Rahet Bally mums have tackled the most daunting of dishes. They’ve navigated fields of molokhia, burnt countless pots of mahshi and lost oven tops in pursuit of sauce-filled moussaka. Tending to the familial rifts that have been torn in the process, the mums have gathered once more to settle internal debates, battle through platefuls of bechamel and prove themselves worthy of new kitchen accouterments.
In this SceneEats special, SceneEats’ Ali Khalifa sits with the mums as they bash, clash and devour each other’s bechamel.
