These Are Legit the Only Cairo Spots That Make Pancit

SPOILER ALERT: They're all in Maadi (obvs).

Staff Writer

Everybody loves noodles. Like, you'd have to be some psychotic freak to not love noodles. Actually, we take that back. Even psychotic freaks love noodles. They are one of those few dishes that are just universally loved. But, in your long life of kersh-feeding, have you ever had any Filipinx noodles? If the answer is no, then you need to change that and we're going to help you.

Enter pancit, a staple Filipinx dish that consists of stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables. There are numerous variations to pancit: there's pancit bihon that uses rice noodles, pancit canton with egg noodles and palabok that's all about that seafood life (meaning both type of noodles and lots of seafood and fish sauce). The beautiful people of the Philippines often have the dish during birthday celebrations as they symbolise longevity and health according to ancient Filipinx superstitions. We don't know about about you but we totes recommend you do that on your next bday, and here are the spots to get pancit from.

Panglasang Pinoy // Maadi

A Filipinx restaurant and cafe that serves all kinds of Filipinx foods. Not only will you find the iconic noodle dish there, you can also treat yourself and delve into the culinary universe of the Philippines'. We recommend pairing your pancit with some adobo.

Bahay Kubo // Maadi

Bahay Kubo translates to "Small Hut" in English, a symbol of loving space for many Filipinx people. This spot doesn't have a physical location but they make all kinds of Filipinx dishes, you just need to ask them. Make sure to try their pancit palabok!

Pinoy Store // Maadi

This isn't a restaurant, but an actual Filipinx grocery store where you can buy pancit and make it at home yourself. You're welcome.

Tinapay  // Maadi

Tinapay is a Filipinx bakery that specialises in, you guessed it, baked goodies from the Philippines (you need to try their pandesal). However, they also make some Filipinx dishes, with pancit being one of them.
