Pinchos Is a Heliopolis Tapas Bar That Transports You Right to Barcelona

The bar offers a range of authentic tapas and other delicious authentic Spanish dishes.

Nestled in the heart of Heliopolis, a tapas bar by the name of Pinchos opened its doors to tapas-loving Cairenes almost exactly one year ago, and has since garnered a reputation for itself as being one of the only authentic spots to get your hands on the delicious Spanish appetisers. And for good reason. The menu was designed and the kitchen staff were trained at the hands of a Spanish chef called  Raúl Garcia, which is a piece of the story that translates through their entire menu. Besides tapas, the spot also offers several traditional Spanish mains and desserts.

Some of the tapas we recommend is their authentic patatas bravas (spicy fried potatoes) wkhich offers just the right tones of spiciness and richness in the sauce, pulpo a la Gallega (octopus made in the Galician way with potatoes and paprika ), croquetas de pollo (chicken croqueetes), which transport you to the Spanish Riviera without ever needing to leave Cairo and the gambas al ajillo (shrimps with olive oil and garlic). For the main, opt for the authentic ‘Classic Paella’ which features chicken, seafood and vegetables) and try out the decade, churros for dessert.

“What I think makes the restaurant special is the fact that Chef Raúl walked us through exactly how to make these traditional tapas,” Pinchos co-founder Tamer Ayoub tells #SceneEats, “So many of our guests tell us that when they try our food, it makes them nostalgic for Spain, and that’s the feeling we strive to translate through our food.”

To visit Spain without ever needing to pack a bag, find Pinchos at 58 Beirut Street, Heliopolis and call +2 012 2219 3134 to book your table.
